Reading, PA – August 1st, 2008– On Thursday, August 1st, the Reading Railers will be appearing at the West Reading Blacktop League finals. There were three games throughout the evening, the first two were league finals and the final game was an all-star game featuring the best players from the high school division of the league.
The Railers organization played a big part in the festivities. The team was one of the sponsors of the event, meaning they had signage along the court. They also had a stand set up by the entrance where they sold team merchandise as well as auctioned off a team-autographed basketball. Railers’ mascot, Spike, as well as members of their dance team, the Reading Rhythm, were all there.
This event further meets the organization’s goal of bringing the Railers and the community together in order to promote the game of basketball.
